Producer/Director Leslie MacKenzie established West Highland Animation in 1988. It is based  in Balquhidder glen,  The aim of WHA  is to promote  Gaelic language and culture to a wider audience through the medium of animation and interactivity.

WHA runs community workshops that introduce children and adults to local stories through the art of animation. We have also produced television series' for BBC Scotland, STV and Grampian and won national and inter-national film awards including educational programme awards. In addition WHA films have been presented at animation festivals around the world, from Annecy to Zagreb.
