DnaC roadshow...

Minority cultures unite

As part of the 2007 Highland Year of Culture, West Highland Animation are touring an Exhibition of animated films, games and comics which present Highland Myth and Legends in a way that everyone will enjoy.

We are inviting you to a one hour CARTOON PROGRAMME where you will be asked to vote for the Tallest Story in two categories:

Stories from Tribes from the Indian Sub continent
- introduced by animated Gaelic comedian Norman MacLean.

Stories from all over the Highlands of Scotland – drawn, voiced and animated by Highland and Island children and introduced by Piney the Pine marten.

The Highland and Island votes, along with others from theTribal groups in India, and British Asian audiences, will be counted and the winners will be awarded their Trophies at the Inverness Film Festival in November 2007.

We have also made a wall Exhibition of original artwork from all the films.

This Tour and Exhibition is funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), Bord na Gaidhlig, Leader+, the Lomond and Trossachs National Park and the Gaelic Media Services. It is supported by CNAG and Highland 2007.

Screenings for the Tribal audiences in India are funded by the Bryan Guinness Charitable Trust and carried out by animator Tara Douglas. The Awards for All Fund is supporting screenings for British Asian audiences with a grant to the Adivasi Arts Trust.
